The Why

I offer commissioned art because I value connecting with others. I like interpreting the feeling of landscapes and places that hold our history and make us feel “at home”. It is important to me that I create artwork that you love, and also complements your home’s interior. As such, I mix custom pigments to match your decor, ensuring your new artwork blends seamlessly into your home. 

The Process

STEP ONE • Consultation

Our initial consultation (in-person or online), is a time for us to discuss your vision for your original art piece in terms of colour, size and inspiration. If requested, I am happy to provide suggestions based on the colours and decor of your home as well as assist in determining size options.

STEP TWO • Inspiration

Following our conversation you can provide any pictures or reference photos you'd like incorporated. As well you can provide paint colours or fabric swatches from your home, as I love to hand-mix custom pigments to match your decor.

If desired, you can also provide a small bit of soil from a sentimental location and I will incorporate it into the pigment used in the painting.

STEP THREE • Creation

I will create a custom color palette and moodboard for your approval. Once we have settled on a direction, I will begin creating your painting!

The creative process can be a variable thing, and as such timelines may vary. Once I start a piece, I like to immerse myself in it, and typically my painting process will take a few days to a few weeks or months, depending on the complexity of the piece. Every piece is different! If the painting is required for a certain date, please let me know ahead of time (ideally, several months before it is due).

Once the piece is complete I will send you some images for approval and we can discuss any amendments you may wish to see. I can adjust colours, add more and take away to suit your requests. This means we can tweak the painting until you are happy with it, in order to create a painting you really love. Once you are completely happy with your piece, it will be signed, named, varnished, carefully packaged, and securely shipped to your home.

Payment terms

I request a 50% deposit and the remainder upon delivery. 

 

Shipping

Shipping is not included in commission price and will be quoted separately.

 

Framing

I am happy to arrange custom framing for your piece upon request. Framing is an additional charge and will be quoted separately depending on style of frame chosen.

 

Rights

Artist retains all rights to artwork unless otherwise agreed upon.
